Maxwell's are a family owned company who take customer service very seriously. We strive to offer the best service possible and go to great lengths to keep it that way. We have weekly staff meetings to air views - good or bad about the way we operate - NEVER do we rest on our laurels. If we find a problem we will put it right as soon as possible and always try to learn from mistakes (we are human after all!). Just one of the reasons we believe our customers keep coming back.

Here are just a few customer letters that we have received over the last year or two. (of course, our customers personal details have to remain anonymous - but these are genuine letters we have received and are in possession of).

I would like to say thank you on behalf of my wife and myself for the instant response and kindness shown by your staff, on the occasion today when we found ourselves in difficulties because our washing machine had broken down.
We telephoned the manufacturers help line but unfortunately they could not help us until approximately eight days time.
I then telephoned your shop to see if you could help us and when I explained our problem to your staff they could not have been more helpful they provided a first class service to us which could not have been bettered by any other business that I have ever had dealings with, all that remains to be said is that your firm will always receive my custom.

Dear Sir,
On Monday 24th of February my wife and I came into your shop with a view to looking at new Hi-Fi Systems. We were taken by one of the traditional TECHNICS systems and one of your salesmen, James, demonstrated it to us. I then told him that I was also interested in DVD players. He then explained to us all about them. He then suggested we consider one of the SONY "cinema" surround systems as this would do all that we required and would have a superior sound quality. It would also save us money. Throughout our visit James was exceptionally kind and patient and was most concerned that we got what we wanted.

Following our purchase and return home we had a few problems during the setting up of the system, so we called the shop and spoke to James who yet again bent over backwards to help us and we now have an exceptional system up and running.

I would like our thanks to be passed on to James and you can be assured that any further electrical purchases that we make will be from Maxwells.

Dear Mr Burton,
We are writing to you to express our appreciation for the quite exceptional service and support provided by Mark.

We moved into our new home this summer and for the past six months or so we have consulted with Mark with regard to the purchase and supply of BOSE System, television and a whole range of other appliances and electrical equipment. From the first enquiry to the after sales we have received wonderful support and advice.

Mark has made a number of visits to our home and provided detailed instruction on the use of the more sophisticated items. A fault with the television was dealt with in a matter of hours and a replacement provided the same afternoon. We cannot recommend your shop highly enough and this is due to the impression we have gained through dealing with Mark.

Mark must be a great credit to your business and it is worth adding that your delivery staff and the way in which staff handle telephone enquiries is also very commendable.

Re: Recent Purchase of Sony KV21TC1 Television Set

Dear Sir,
I am just writing a quick note of appreciation regarding the attention which your staff gave me when I called last Tuesday, when I purchased the above mentioned television set. Also for your relevant staff delivering the set the next day.

The set fits very well into the former Tanberg T.V. cabinet, and is an excellent replacement to the Sony KVM2130 which fit equally well into the Tanberg cabinet. This particular set gave excellent service over 13 years with perhaps only one repair during all that time. I am hoping the new set will give similar service.

Good Morning,
Last Tuesday my wife and I visited your shop with a view to purchasing a new washing machine. as our existing machine had been out of action for a week we were anxious to obtain a new machine as soon as possible.

In your shop we were attended to by Mark. Mark quickly identified our urgent need for a new machine and was able to confirm that a delivery could be made to us the following morning.

Mark patiently and knowledgably took us through the differences between the different Siemens Washing Machines. Once we finally made our choice Mark processed our purchase and confirmed that as there were two deliveries our machine would be delivered late the next morning.

The delivery van arrived at 09.30!

Your delivery staff declined the offer of coffee and set about removing the old machine. When there was a knock on the door a few minutes later I expected confirmation that the old machine was out. The surprise I got was that the old machine was out and the new machine was in and working.

The purpose of this rambling email is to identify the extremely good service provided by Mark in your shop, your prompt delivery and the excellence of your delivery team. The delivery team even provided a cap for the redundant hot water tap.

These day people seem all to keen to complain, it is a pleasure to be able to thank you for your service.

I regret that this is my first major purchase from you and I look forward to the next opportunity to do so.

Dear Mr Burton,
May I congratulate Maxwell's for their wonderful service!

Since moving to the town over seven years ago i have always bought everything electrical i.e. T.V, Video etc.. from your store upon the recommendation of my son, and I have always been well pleased with the purchases and have appreciated the kindness and advice from your staff who were never ever what I would call pushy!

The two young men who delivered my cooker yesterday were lovely boys and didn't grumble about having to carry the cooker up two flights of stairs, and then remove the old one. The young men were very kind, and after fitting the new cooker, gave me advice on adapting to it which was greatly appreciated.

We are lucky in Northallerton in still having good quality family stores.

This letter has to be the most humerous Thank You we have ever received.
It's a rhyme in response to the customer having requested us to
call out to check why their recent Freezer purchase wasn't working.
(It wasn't switched on!)

Lizzie asked that I write this rhyme
To apologise to you for wasting your time
A DVD is next in line
But the job of working it will be mine

We think your shop is the best there is
With your service we think you do the bis
The last of us you have not seen
Because such stars you really have been

In her defence I have to say
Switching on at the socket was the only way
Of putting a freezer on that I knew
But for superior knowledge I bow to you!
