DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) is the new generation of radio designed to meet the needs of the ever more critical consumer. Where reception is available DAB allows consumers to be able to receive 'near CD' quality sound from a DAB capable receiver. Maxwell's have found this product to be a very popular product for all age groups. However, not every area has coverage right now so we recommend you check whether you can receive it in your area by checking out the Digital Radio Website and popping in your Postcode.

FreeView - alternatively known as Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT)is the new way to receive up to 30 Digital TV programmes through an aerial. FreeView offers the consumer more selection and better quality pictures and sound. Gone are the days when you suffer from snowy pictures and or ghosting images. The government have now revealed plans to start turning off the 'old Analogue' signals from 2008 although the Bilsdale (Tyne Tees) Transmitter is planned to switch off analogue in 2012.

Some customers may have to upgrade their existing aerial to a better suited 'wideband' aerial which ideally should be mounted outside and not in a loft-space. However, there are areas that still cannot receive the FreeView service yet. To check whether you can receive FreeView please check out the DTT Website and pop in your post code.

SKY is the UK's largest digital television platform and a leading broadcaster of sports, movies, entertainment and news. You receive Sky TV by means of a black minidish and set-top box (which is generally placed below your TV!). You can select from a number of Entertainment packages to suit your pocket. Also available is the super-cool Sky+. A Digital Video Recorder and Satellite receiver in one. Sky+ lets you record and store your favourite programmes so you can watch them whenever you like. TopUpTV TopUpTV is a new TV service that boosts your current channel choice available on Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT). It adds 10 of the most popular digital channels including E4, The Discovery Channel & Cartoon Network at the most convenient times for you to watch, all this is in addition to the Freeview channels you can currently receive.
The current cost for the TopUpTV service is £7.99 per month with a one-off connection charge of £20.00; the service can also be cancelled at any time due to TopUpTV not implementing a binding contract.
